/Stump Removal

After a tree has been removed or felled often the only visible evidence that a tree was ever there is the remaining stump. Stump grinding is the process of removing these stumps below the ground level. It is achieved with a machine that cuts and chips away at the stump, reducing the stump to a mixture of wood chips and soil, often referred to as mulch. This mulch is then back filled into the hole where the stump was and left to settle.

Reasons for stump grinding:

  • Where replanting is required in the same location as a tree that was removed, making planting and establishment of the new plant much easier

  • Where a stump will be in the way of building works; house extensions, fencing works etc.

  • For aesthetic reasons
