Mulching
TreeSmiths Ltd carry out a wide array of Mulching projects for our clients ranging from large estates reclaiming overgrown land, development companies clearing large areas for development, to smaller domestic projects.
The mulcher operated by TreeSmiths Ltd is a Serrat head mounted on a Bobcat T86 High Flow carrier. This carrier is one of a few in the country, which is capable of both running its mulching head at a high capacity which ensures optimum productivity, whilst also being small enough to navigate through small intricate sites and mulching between trees.

Mulching is a fast and efficient way to clear dense overgrown areas of vegetation, brash from felled trees and roots or stumps. Mulching consists of cutting, chopping and grinding the material in-situ. In-situ mulching ensures the arisings are mulched back into the ground, which break down quickly leaving a clean and level finish to the site.
Mulching offers the additional benefit of enhancing soil structure. As the mulch decomposes, it enriches the soil with organic matter, which significantly improves both nutrient levels and moisture retention. This creates a more favorable environment for replanting after mulching is complete.
